Volume 5 Issue 4
The stories in the issue explore some aspects of how things are remembered. It kicks off with Savage Beast, a heart-wrenching story in which a young Native American is brought face to face with the extinction of his way of life. In The Artefact, a children’s toy from a long-gone era becomes the focal point of political machinations in the modern day. Two compelling but competing scents spark nostalgia and fear in a young man’s mind in A Whiff of Rice and Gunpowder. Flying off the Shelves has a narrative of cruelty and greed, set across continents. The Story of Mahabali tells the tale of Maveli mentioned in the previous paragraph. Nana’s House winds up the issue on a positive note, despite its tale of loss engendered by the Partition of India.
