The stories in this issue offer insights into various concepts of utopia and dystopia. Chasing Utopia is about an architect who tries to make the best of Muhammad bin Tughlaq’s plan to shift his kingdom’s centre from Delhi to Daulatabad, but his dream is quickly dismantled by the foolishness of the idea. In Sultan’s Dream, a misogynistic boy enters an imaginary utopia for women and has his worldview turned inside out. We Build What We Imagine explores the pros and cons of the Solarpunk movement. In Half Picture Postcard, we witness Kashmir’s beauty through the eyes of a tourist couple and its underlying ugly truths through the words of their Kashmiri guides. The story Paradise Lost? is about how Goa, once a pristine Eden, is seeing transformative changes for the worse.
