Writer and artist

Mia Jose is a non-binary illustrator, writer, art director and devourer of all things camp and horror. Having been trained as a lawyer, she left her legal career behind in 2022 to pursue an art practice, working with various organisations like Hachette, The Caravan, Internet Freedom Foundation and Qomix to create graphic narratives and visuals for their publications and events. Informed by her identity and roots in Kerala, her personal work navigates the intersections of queerness, inheritance and the dialogue between our bodies and physical spaces. In her downtime, Mia can be found playing Pokémon or seeking out food that reminds her of home.
