Arun Ferreira is a democratic rights activist, lawyer and also a cartoonist. He had been incarcerated twice under provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, the second time being what has come to be known as the Bhima Koregaon – Elgar Parishad case. After his previous imprisonment and subsequent acquittal in all cases, Arun had written and sketched about this experience in a book titled ‘Colours of the Cage’. This prison memoir was published in five Indian languages. Arun loves to narrate and sketch anecdotes that expose the underbelly of our society. Like many others, he hopes that such an endeavour will help build a more egalitarian and just society.
